OpenPBS: Modelica package for assessment of PBS (Performance Based Standard) for long HCT (High Capacity Transports) on roads
Other - Software code, 2022

The project “Performance Based Standards for High Capacity Transports in Sweden II” have generated the tool OpenPBS. It is an updated version of the result from an earlier project (see https://research.chalmers.se/en/publication/251269).

 * The tool is in the format of a Modelica package, see https://modelica.org/.
 * It can be used for assessments of specific individual transports with respect to regulations. For this, one need to give the vehicle parameters stored in the vehicle register for each unit's registration number and specify the load with axle vertical forces and load heights. This can typically be arranged as a digital service, such as https://www.transportstyrelsen.se/sv/Nyhetsarkiv/2018/ny-e-tjanst-stod-for-tunga-fordon/.
 * It can also be used during engineering. For this one can give more parameters. All parameters and all vehicle manouvres and PBS measures are defined as physical as possible, to facilitate assessments and analyses also of future novel vehicle designs. This typically requires that one work with the package in a Modelica tool.
