Implementation of NOVAC instruments in the DECADE project (DECADE)
Forskningsprojekt, 2019
This project seeks to identify targeted volcanoes monitored for SO2 flux by the NOVAC network for instrumentation of gas chemistry stations to measure CO2 /SO2 ratios, and thus CO2 flux. The NOVAC network currently consists of 26 volcanoes around the world whose SO2 flux is measured several times daily by scanning DOAS instruments. This network will form the backbone for targeted installations of MultiGAS instruments to measure CO2, SO2 , H2 S, and other gases as well as humidity, temperature, etc. Future installations will seek to measure CO2 fluxes at high-flux SO2 emitters, and to identify new volcanoes for installation of both NOVAC and MultiGAS instruments.
