Hans forskning är inriktad mot utvecklingen och implementeringen av snifferinstrument och optisk fjärranalysteknik för att studera gasemissioner från vulkaner och luftföroreningar från fartyg. Han är involverad i designen av mätsystem, dataanalys och fältkampanjer i luften.
