Mohammad Tahershamsi is a doctoral student at the Division of Structural Engineering, in the research group Concrete Structures, at Chalmers. His current research project focuses on load-carrying capacity of existing concrete structures. Structural behaviour and load carrying capacity of naturally corroded edge beams of Stallbacka Bridge (Trollhättan, Sweden) are investigated both experimentally and numerically. The aim of this project is to provide deeper understanding of the structural effects of naturally corroded reinforcement in concrete structures. The outcome of this project will decrease the current uncertainties between test results of accelerated corrosion methods and natural corrosion.
