HEFE - Highly efficient electric vehicles
Research Project, 2020 – 2024

The proposed research project will build knowledge and develop new technical solutions, within the area of electric vehicle energy efficiency, at CEVT and at Chalmers. The project will focus mainly on two areas; complete powertrain efficiency and thermal management efficiency. The powertrain efficiency will be improved by using state-of-the-art technologies and by investigating new and innovative powertrain layouts. The thermal management efficiency will be improved by implementing and optimally controlling a novel vehicle thermal system. CEVT will employ two PhD students, where one shall have a main focus on system design and the other a main focus on optimal control. At CEVT and at Chalmers this project will create a cross departmental cooperation, which is especially important in this cross disciplinary subject of energy efficiency.
