Emission control by validated catalytic reactor modelling
Research Project, 2017 – 2022

This project aims at enabling validated models for automotive emission control. This will be addressed by developing improved models for mass and heat transfer which are de-coupled with the kinetic models (which often becomes confounded with mass transfer phenomena). By developing these models and associated methodologies, the requirements of current and future legislations will be within our reach. Furthermore, engine control and quality assurance will be improved since higher validity also enables better control of surrounding systems (such as engine control and/or maintenance). Johnson Matthey is main applicant in cooperation with Chalmers and Volvo Car Corporation.
