Assessment of centralized and decentralized systems for collection, reuse and recycling of EV batteries
Forskningsprojekt, 2021
– 2022
Batteries for vehicle and stationary applications is a fast-growing industry and are crucial to achieve a climate neutral economy. However, the environmental gains can be diluted if batteries are not adequately collected and handled after use. This project will assess how supply chain set-ups affect the performance of electric vehicle (EV) batteries in terms of costs and environmental impact over the whole lifecycle (including reuse and recycling) and identifies critical features for reaching their performance potential. It will provide a much-needed integrated view on the performance and interaction of collection, reuse, and recycling.
