Christian Ekberg
Christian Ekberg är sedan 2007 innehavare av Stenas professur i Industriell Materialåtervinning och sedan 2012 professor i kärnkemi. Han är dessutom avdelningschef för kärnkemi / industriall materialåtervinning, Energi och material. Karriären startade med modellering av kemiska system då främst grundvattenflöden. Huvudfrågan blev hur osäkerheter i indata till kemiska modeller påverkar utdata, så kallade osäkerhets och känslighetsanalyser. Efter hand förflyttades fokus till experimentell bestämning av stabilitetskonstanter och då huvudsakligen med vätskeextraktionsteknik. Efter disputationen tillbringade Ekberg en post doc. vid the Australien Nuclear and safety organisation, ANSTO. Efter hemkomsten blev Ekberg ansvarig för separations och transmutationsforskningen på kärnkemi vid Chalmers samtidigt som verksamheten inom termodynamiska studier och vätskeextraktion utvecklades. På senaste tiden har fokus breddats till att även innefatta produktion och återvinningsbarhet av nya innovativa kärnbränslen.
Ekberg leder forskningsverksamhet i både industriell materialåtervinning och kärnkemi.
