Ann-Sofie Cans

Professor at Chemistry and Biochemistry

At Chalmers I am now pioneering a research program with a focus on nanosensor engineering and artificial cell structures to study the chemistry and biophysics of cells, and neuronal communication. Currently running projects involve development and application of artificial cell models to study
1) quantitative amperometric measurements on the effects of lipids composition in membrane dynamics and sorting inhigh curvature regions of nanotube biomembranes,
2) DNA-zipper-catalyzed artificial exocytosis, and
3) development of millisecond time resolved ultra-small biosensors constructed from enzyme nanoparticle bioconjugates for selective probing of molecules in vivo in the brain.
