I joined the Bionanophotonics group as a PhD student in August 2014. My background is a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Gothenburg. My work in the group is focused on the design and functionalization of electromagnetic metamaterials, typically composed of noble metal nanoparticles (e.g. gold). Currently, the main goal of my research is to try to optimize different properties of plasmonic metamaterials for use as optical sensors, mainly biomolecular.Toward this end, I both perform numerical simulations (e.g. FDTD) and different experimental methods of optical spectroscopy.
