Kirsten Knudsen

Full Professor at Astronomy and Plasmaphysics

Kirsten Kraiberg Knudsen's research concerns galaxy formation and evolution and Kirsten focuses in particularly on star forming galaxies at cosmological distances. For the research, she uses large, modern telescopes such as ALMA, VLT, IRAM PdBI, and VLA to study the properties of redshift z=2-7 (lensed) submillimeter galaxies and quasar host galaxies. She receives funding from the VR and KAW as a Wallenberg Academy Fellow and Scholar. She is a former member of the Swedish Young Academy. Kirsten is also vice-head of department for utilization and deputy head of department.
