Ralf Jänicke is Associate Professor in Structural Mechanics at the Division Material and Computational Mechanics. His research focus lies on mechanical modeling, computational homogenization and order reduction of multi-scale and multi-phase materials. The aim of his research is to understand the interaction between physical processes at the micro-scale and the observable material behavior at the macro-scale. Application fields range from Geo-Sciences via Civil Engineering to Materials Science.
