Mattias Marklund

Professor at Department of Physics, Theoretical Physics

Mattias Marklund was born in Skellefteå in Sweden. He received a BSc in mathematics (1992) from Umeå University. In 1998 he received a PhD in theoretical physics at Umeå University, spending part of his time at the KFKI in Budapest. After his PhD he spent time as a postdoc with Prof. George Ellis at the Department of Mathematics, University of Cape Town. Moving back to Sweden, he worked at the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) before joining as Chalmers University of Technology as an Assistant Professor in Electromagnetics. In 2004 he was recruited as an Associate Professor, and later Professor, to Umeå University. In 2013, he was recruited as Professor of Physics at Chalmers University of Technology.
