Vilhelm Müller

Vilhelm Müller is since 2015 a PhD student in Fredrik Westerlund’s group at the Division of Chemical Biology. His research is based on studying fluorescently labeled DNA at a single molecule level by stretching the DNA in nanofluidic channels and using fluorescence microscopy for visualization. The main focus of the project is to develop a rapid method to study bacterial plasmids, removing the current need of cultivating the bacteria before characterization. If successful, the aim is that the method could facilitate the characterization of plasmids that carry antibiotic resistance.
