Shun-Han Yang (Hedy) received her Ph.D. in Naval Architecture. Her thesis research dealt with developing a numerical analysis procedure to assess the structural fatigue and long-term performance of wave renewable energy systems. Building on this fundamental analytical framework, her post-doctoral research focuses on the design of mooring systems for wave energy devices installed in arrays. The goal is to propose and assess mooring solutions with improved reliability, survivability, and profitability. Hedy’s research interest centres around analysing the hydrodynamic and structural interactions in ships and offshore structures, with a special focus on the structural safety and integrity.
