Bijan Aryana

Senior Lecturer at Design & Human Factors

I have a background in product design, and since joining academia, I have always been interested in understanding how people and organizations perceive design in various socio-economic contexts. Given this interest, throughout my professional career, I've explored areas such as country-specific design, design entrepreneurship, design for mobility, design for crisis, and design for health. I have also worked and lived in different countries, including Iran, Norway, Turkey, and the UK.

My current research focus is on design for health, specifically using AI to improve mental well-being at work. I also collaborate on research projects related to inclusive design for crisis preparation.

Simultaneously, I am the director of the MSc Industrial Design Engineering program at Chalmers, and I am the examiner for the course project in industrial design engineering. This course enables students to tackle complex real-world problems from a broad range of industries both nationally and internationally. The course involves close collaboration with the industry.

I also examine the "Design for Experience" course and collaborate on the "Design for All" course in the master's program.
