Sascha Krause

Sascha Krause moved to Sweden in 2011 in order to study the master program Wireless, Photonics and Space Engineering after graduating in Electrical Engineering in 2011 in Magdeburg, Germany. The challenging subject of developing THz receiver technologies led to the start of a PhD in the Unit for Advanced Receiver Development at the Department of Space, Earth and Environment in September 2013. The work mainly covers the improvement of superconductive materials and technologies employed in radio receivers used for astronomical observations in the THz frequency range. These frequency bands are particularly valuable when looking at processes related to cold matter as i.e. the basis for the birth of stars. Sascha gained experience in the nanofabrication laboratory, especially in thin-film deposition techniques and micro fabrication since 2012.
