Transformative change towards net negative emissions in Swedish refinery and petrochemical industries
Research Project, 2020
– 2026
The project aims to create an understanding of various development paths that can contribute to a transformative transition of refineries and petrochemical industries to become negative emission sources of climate gases. The Swedish Energy Agency assesses that the project can provide decision-making support to gradually reduce emissions from the refinery and chemical industry in Sweden. Through the decision-making support, industries can find solutions that over time ensure competitive facilities, while undergoing a radical transformation.
