Frank Persson

Docent at Chalmers, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Water Environment Technology

Frank is an Assistant Professor at the Division of Water Environment Technology at Chalmers. Frank conducts research about nutrient removal from wastewater, aiming at future biological treatment combinations which are more efficient and where resources are better recovered and utilized. The research is performed by combining molecular biology, ecology and process engineering. Frank works mainly with anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) for removal of nitrogen, but he also works with other microbial processes in wastewater. He has also worked with projects dealing with issues of controlling wanted and unwanted microbial biofilms in drinking water production and in the marine environment.
