Frank Persson
Frank is an Associate professor in the Division of Water Environment Technology, research theme Process techniques for wastewater treatment, at Chalmers.
Frank conducts research about nutrient removal from wastewater, aiming at future biological treatment combinations which are more efficient and where resources are better recovered and utilized. The research is performed by combining molecular biology, ecology and process engineering. Frank works mainly with anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) for removal of nitrogen, but he also works with other microbial processes in wastewater. He has also worked with projects dealing with issues of controlling wanted and unwanted microbial biofilms in drinking water production and in the marine environment.
