Emmy Cao
Yu Cao is working in the area of material characterization focusing on the surface and interface analysis, with an emphasis on X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) which have the sampling depth less than 10 nm. She focuses her research on both applied and basic levels in the areas including metallurgy, microelectronics, coatings, corrosion, nanotechnology, tribology, biomaterials and so on. Another research focus is on the mechanical behaviors of engineering metals and the correlation with microstructure, temperature and strain rate.
