David Pallarès
David Pallarès focuses his research in fluidization and aims at developing knowledge and tools for the design, scale-up and performance of established and novel fluidized-bed processes. His work pays special attention to the use of non-fossil fuels such as biomass and renewable waste. He has developed a 3D finite-volume model for CFB processes (Circulating fluidized bed) together with an industrial partner. The model serves as both knowledge repository and tool to identify key knowledge gaps to be investigated experimentally. Experimental work is a central part of his research activities, as it is used for the development of the modeling (through dedicated experiments) and its validation.
David Pallarès is since 2018 vice-Head of Department for doctoral studies.
