Huadong Yao

Biträdande professor vid Marin teknik

Hua-Dong Yao har ägnat sin forskning åt förnybar energi och hållbara transporter utifrån perspektivet fluid-struktur-interaktion (FSI). Tiden kan spåras tillbaka till hans doktorsavhandling, som slutfördes 2008. I samarbete med sina kollegor och studenter inom och utanför Chalmers tekniska högskola har han utvecklat många specifika metoder och verktyg för att lösa kritiska grundläggande och industriella problem. Han är medlem i AIAA, SAE International, RINA och ICNMT.

Nu är han också medlem i ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) nominerad från Sverige. Där i WGORE (Working Group on Offshore Renewable Energy) ägnar han sig åt att utforska de hydrografiska effekterna av havsbaserade vindkraftsparker på havsmiljöer.

Han har haft en gästprofessur vid flera universitet. Han har varit gästredaktör för flera vetenskapliga tidskrifter och medlem i organisationskommittén för flera internationella konferenser inom flyg-, rymd- och marinteknik. Han har bjudits in som huvudtalare till konferenser och workshops. Han har lett projekt som finansierats av Horizon 2020 och svenska nationella finansieringsorgan. Han har deltagit i Horizon 2020-projekt, t.ex. ALONOCO, CALAS, IMAGE, SUBLIME och IVANHOE (koordinator).

Utvalda forskningsämnen:

- Förnybar energi: vindkraft på land/offshore, vågkraft.

- FSI: aero-/hydroelasticitet.

- Oceanografi: recirkulation och turbulens under vatten.

- Aeroakustik: flygplansskrovsbuller, vindbuller från fordon på marken (bilar och höghastighetståg etc.), fläktbuller i luftbehandlingsaggregat, propellerbuller, transsoniskt strömningsbuller.

- Aero-vibroakustik: strömningsinducerat kabinbuller.

- Turbulensmodellering för beräkningsbaserad aero-akustik: Large Eddy Simulation (LES), stokastisk bullergenerering och strålning (SNGR).

- Aero/hydrodynamik: installation av UHBPR, BLI, framdrivning av vindkraftsdrivna fartyg.

- Multidisciplinär designoptimering (MDO): maskininlärningsbaserad

- Urban luftmobilitet (UAM).

- CFD- och FSI-kodning: OpenFOAM och egenutvecklade koder

- Lattice-Boltzmann-metoden (LBM): i allmänhet för CFD och FSI.

- Värmeöverföring: batterikylning för fartyg och bilar

- Biomekanik: hydrodynamik vid nervskada efter whiplash
