My research is mainly focused on applications in materials science and microscopy. This involves image analysis of microscopy data, in part for dynamic measurements of for example diffusion coefficients, in part for characterization of material structures and their geometry using imaging techniques. Further, it concerns statistical modeling of realistic material structures and simulation of their properties. The research is based on a broad spectrum of techniques in statistics, machine learning, stochastic modeling, simulation, chemical and physical modeling, and image analysis.
