Maria Lagerström

Post doc at Maritime Environmental Sciences

I am a post doc at the unit of Maritime Environmental Sciences and study antifouling paints used for the protection of submerged vessel hulls against fouling. My background is in environmental chemistry and during my Ph.D. my research focused primarily on the dispersal of antifouling biocides into the environment from the use of antifouling paints on recreational boats, as well as on the environmental risk assessment of these products. My current project focuses instead on their use on ships, with the aim to identify sustainable antifouling strategies for the shipping industry.
