Johan Mellqvist
My research involves developing and using optical remote sensing methods and other state of the art measurement techniques to improve the understanding of various environmental problems. The work includes developing and applying strategies to measure gaseous emissions from various sources such as ships, airplanes, industrial gas leaks agricultural activities and volcanoes. It also includes long term monitoring and interpretation of the abundance of various species in the atmosphere. In particular the research can be divided into four areas that will be described during the talk, i.e. a) Atmospheric studies using ground based high resolution FTIR of the sun, b) Mobile FTIR measurements of the sun to obtain fluxes c) Mobile UV/visible measurements and d) Ship emission measurements.
