Uta Klement
Uta Klement är professor i materialvetenskap med inriktning på elektronmikroskopi. Hon är avdelningschef för Material och tillverkning och leder dessutom forskargruppen Yt- och mikrostrukturteknik.
Inom hennes forskning läggs särskilt fokus på utveckling och karakterisering av olika typer av nanokristallina och sub-mikrokristallina material för funktionella tillämpningar. Olika typer av beläggningar och energiabsorberande material som produceras med elektroplätering, termisk sprutning och mekanisk legering studeras och optimeras med avseende på fasbildning och fasfördelning, textur, termisk stabilitet, vidhäftning, etc. Även superlegeringar, titan och avancerat stål undersöks med syfte att förstå materialens egenskaper och för att uppnå robusta och förutsägbara tillverkningsprocesser, lägre energi- och materialförbrukning samt minskad miljöpåverkan.
