Carl Brunius

Associate Professor at Food and Nutrition Science

Carl Brunius investigates connections between food and health, to develop approaches for precision nutrition, i.e. healthy food tailored for individual requirements. His research focuses on Big Data methodology to investigate and understand how metabolites and intestinal flora vary and interact in relation to diet and health. The aim is to identify markers for dietary exposure and for metabotypes, ie groups of individuals with similar metabolic regulation in relation to diet, and to understand and quantitate the metabotype determinants using computational metabolomics and microbiota analyses.
