Docent vid Livsmedelsvetenskap

Carl Brunius forskar på samband mellan mat och hälsa för att utveckla approacher för precisionsnutrition, dvs hälsofrämjande mat speciellt anpassad för individuella behov. Hans forskning fokuserar på användandet av Big Data-metoder för att vaska fram hur metaboliter och tarmflora varierar och interagerar i relation vad vi äter och hur det påverkar vår hälsostatus. Målsättningen är att finna markörer för kostexponering och för metabotyper, dvs grupper av individer med likartad metabolismreglering i relation till kost, samt att nå en förståelse för vad som utgör grunden för olika metabotyper.
