Eduard Hryha är forskare inom pulvermetallurgi och additiv tillverkning av metaller. Han är även chef för CAM2 (https://www.chalmers.se/en/centres/cam2/Pages/default.aspx) - kompetenscenter med fokus på pulverbaserad additiv tillverkning av metaller.
Hans forskning fokuserar på:
- Pulvermetallurgi: pulverframställning och egenskaper, komprimering, högpresterande PM-stål, skräddarsydda sintringsprocesser, sintringsatmosfärer, mjuka magnetiska kompositer (SMC), het isostatisk pressning, syntes etc.
- Pulverbaserad additiv tillverkning av metaller: samband mellan pulverråvara - AM (additiv tillverkning) - bearbetning - egenskaper hos AM-tillverkat material med fokus på pulverbäddsfusionsprocesser (laserbaserad och elektronstråle) och bindemedelsstrålning, pulver för AM och pulvernedbrytning under AM-bearbetning, AM-process utveckling, bearbetning av gas i AM, processövervakning på plats, kvalitetssäkring i AM, produktivitet i AM, etc.
- Ytanalys med avancerad ytkänslig teknik: karakterisering av ytkomposition och interaktion med fast gas på nanonivå med hjälp av ytkänsliga tekniker som XPS (röntgenfotoelektronspektroskopi) och Auger-spektroskopi
- Termisk analys: TG / DTA / DSC / DIL i inert och reducerande (t.ex. väte) atmosfär och vakuum.
