Andrei Vorobiev

Senior Researcher at Terahertz and Millimetre Wave Laboratory

Andrei Vorobiev received the M.Sc. degree in physics of semiconductors and dielectrics from Gorky State University, Gorky, Russia, in 1986 and Ph.D. degree in physics and mathematics from Institute for Physics of Microstructures of Russian Academy of Sciences (IPM RAS), Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in 2000.

Since 1986 he has been an engineer and then the head of Laboratory of Microelectronics at Design Office of Measuring Instruments, Gorky, Russia with research interests in area of development of hybrid film microwave integrated circuits. In 1991 he joined the Technology Division of IPM RAS as senior research associate with research interests in the area of high temperature superconductor films and multi-layer structures.

Since 2001, he is at Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden, at first as a Postdoctoral Fellow and then as a Researcher.
In 2008 he received title of docent (broadly equivalent to Associate Professor) in physical electronics awarded at Chalmers University of Technology.
He has authored or coauthored over 100 papers and conference presentations. His research interests are in the area of development and application of emerging functional materials and phenomena in microwave components and devices based on multiferroic and ferroelectric thin films including development of materials, thin film and microtechnology fabrication/processing steps and experimental investigation.
