Hanna Härelind är professor vid avdelningen för Tillämpad kemi. Hennes forskningsintresse fokuserar på heterogenfaskatalys, speciellt design och syntes av katalysatorer samt samspelet mellan det katalytiska materialet och de reaktioner och reaktionsmekanismer som sker på katalysatorns yta. Man kan t.ex. föja ytreaktioner med in-situ spektroskopiska metoder. Viktiga tillämpningar för heterogenfaskatalys inkluderar emissionskontroll för fordon.
